Introducing the Sound Odyssey Band

            Overview, Background, History, and our Guiding Philosophy

The SOUND ODYSSEY BAND is a six-piece ensemble, all from the metropolitan NYC area. The Band is extremely versatile musically, and well-trained on their respective instruments. Several members are very proficient and well-versed on multiple instruments. They perform a wide variety of the most popular and notable Pop, Rock & Light Jazz tunes from as far back as the 50's and 60's, right up through the years to the more popular tunes of today. They routinely perform, individually or collectively, at private affairs and parties, including wedding receptions, banquets, and corporate functions, but also easily tailor their selections for their Night Club work under the 'Sound Odyssey Band' and 'The SOB's monikers.

Beatles, Stones, Doobie Brothers, Glenn Miller, Alicia Keyes, Latin, Disco, Santana, Swing, Norah Jones, Pat Benatar, 4 Seasons, Black Crowes, and on and on...........Whatever the occasion, Sound Odyssey delivers!  

SOUND ODYSSEY personnel: Ty on Guitar, Trumpet & Background Vocals, Robbie on Drums, Alan on Saxes, Woodwinds, Lead & Background Vocals, Rikk on Bass, Lead & Background Vocals, and a variety of highly-talented guest musicians and vocalists.

Our philosophy: Perform the widest variety of music  possible to appeal to the widest cross-section of musical tastes possible to the best of our abilities. So simple, yet difficult to execute!

It is an extremely difficult undertaking just to keep ANY living, breathing band together for any length of time. This PARTICULAR type of musical endeavor, however, truly requires a tremendous commitment, musical skills developed only from many years of study and experience, teamwork, versatility, and a true love of music of many different styles, genres and eras. This love of ALL music that  we speak of just simply cannot be 'manufactured' or faked.

Each and every member of Sound Odyssey has been involved in music performance for many, many years. In some cases, for well over 30 years! We are dedicated, skilled & 'seasoned' professionals who take your event very seriously! For each of us, music is truly a 'calling', not simply a hobby!  We have performed for broad cross-sections of people, from all walks of life,  for all age groups and ethnic backgrounds.  We believe we have something for virtually everyone!                     

The current Sound Odyssey lineup you see pictured throughout these pages has truly been many years in the  making!  Not only do we all share the same attitudes and desires musically as represented, but each member has been hand-picked for their unique talent, ability, and versatility! As a result, we're proud to say that there are very few bands out there today that can offer you the selection, diversity, versatility, and quality that we  can!
